Manitowoc Co. (NYSE: MTW) 12.3% HIGHER; In a 13D filing fund Relational Investors disclosed a 8.52%, or 11,512,169 share, stake in the company. The firm did not hold shares at the end of the latest quarter ending March 31, 2014. The firm is urging the company to split.
Progress Software Corp (NASDAQ: PRGS) 9.9% HIGHER;reported Q2 EPS of $0.37, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.34. ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD) 6.7% LOWER; announced today it is restructuring its business model to lower its operating costs and better align resources to address growth opportunities in rapidly expanding infrastructure markets. Lowers revenue guidance and cuts workforce.
Isis Pharma (NASDAQ: ISIS) 5.2% LOWER; the company was targeted by a short seller in Seeking Alpha (link). The report said long-term kynamro adverse events may apply to Isis's pipeline.
Nike, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) 3.5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.78, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.75. Revenue for the quarter came in at $7.43 billion versus the consensus estimate of $7.34 billion. Future orders up 12%.
DuPont de Nemours & Co. (NYSE: DD) 2.3% LOWER; announced that the company is revising its outlook for operating earnings per share for the second quarter and full year 2014, due primarily to lower than expected quarterly performance of its Agriculture and, to a lesser extent, Performance Chemicals segments. The company expects operating earnings in the second quarter to be moderately below the $1.28 per share recorded in the same period last year. As a result, the company is lowering its full-year outlook for operating earnings to $4.00 to $4.10 per share. *** The Street sees EPS of $4.30.
IGI Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: IG) 2.1% LOWER; announced that it is offering shares of the Company's common stock in an underwritten public offering. The proposed offering is subject to market and other conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.
Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) 0.8% HIGHER; filed a registration with the U.S. SEC to form Vornado SpinCo., which will hold, directly or indirectly, Vornado’s shopping center business, consisting of 80 strip shopping centers located primarily in the Northeast and California and four malls, two located in New Jersey and two located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. SpinCo’s properties will also include a warehouse park adjacent to the company's East Hanover strip shopping center property.
